The internet is small

In the process of keeping kilcormac.com up to date I decided to add some web feed and search feeds to the site. It's handy to do, provides lots of new, regular info but a lot can be crap. Now and then I do a manual search for stuff and yesterday I came across a cool painting. An artist called Leslie Hawes from Arazona, USA who paints pictures from google street view. It's an unusual and novel idea and low and behold in the middle of them is an image from Kilcormac.

Anyone from the town will instantly recognise it. Here is the streetview link. She is being kind to the town and the building is even worse now. Still the web is a small place considering what you find.

What fun! Yes, the internet makes it a small world.
I was searching through my Google Images pages to see who's using what of my art, and I found your Blog. I truly appreciate your using the image properly, with all the links intact. Hooray!
I am most fascinated with Ireland, and Google Street View provides me with a way to look around. Thanks for the hospitality :)
I am attracted to the 'untouched' storefronts that still retain echoes of time gone by. Lots of character in these old buildings and though I appreciate the fixed up places, my eye is called to draw these. I can feel the backstory as I draw, whatever that might be.
Again, I appreciate your use of the art, and the links. Look around on my drawing blog a bit...there's more of Ireland to be seen :)
my regards, Leslie
